Your raw materials deserve more than the scrap dealer

Our ambition is to use the available resources and make them accessible. Too many usable materials lie dormant in our warehouses and are not used. The production of steel costs a lot of energy, energy that pollutes our environment. Let's use what is available and only then make new ones..

This led to the idea of developing a platform

In his position as operations manager of a forge, Mr. Tackenberg experienced that there were materials in the warehouse that could not be used for current orders. Due to the fact that order lead times are up to 6 weeks and industry standard payment terms are 30 days to the end of the month, capital was tied up for a particularly long time. So it happened that when several large orders were processed, the company's liquidity suffered. Now, one would have had the option of returning the unneeded inventory to the dealer or entrusting it to a scrap dealer. Neither is an option when you see how much money you lose in the process. Dealers take up to 20% of the value of the goods as a redemption fee and scrap dealers give only a fraction of what the goods cost.

This led to the idea to develop a platform that gives companies the opportunity to offer your stock at your own conditions. The network, which is generated by this, then reveals that what one needs is superfluous at the other. Often, for example, certain steels are temporarily unavailable on the market, but are needed for current orders. If someone has this material in stock but does not need it, he can offer it to the other at the same price as the trader would. Thus both have an advantage. One can increase his liquidity and, if necessary, buy material that he needs and the other can work off his order because he was able to procure the material.

Europe's warehouses hold hundreds of thousands of tons of semi-finished metal products.

A not small part of it is not used for years. In some cases, the material even takes damage, because it can not be stored properly, because the space is missing. Always in the back of the head that it could be used again and is still better than it to scrap. Mind you material, what another urgently needs.

Naturally, such a network can not exist without the cooperation of the dealers, who stand by the customers with their know-how. Traders should also act on the platform to identify and help companies with raw material shortages, both regionally and nationally. Companies tend to build a supplier base and request needed materials from an average of 3-5 distributors. If this cannot be obtained from any of these suppliers or if only a very long delivery time is given, this long delivery time is passed on to the customer or the order is rejected. Some companies also start to contact all dealers within a radius of 50km and last but not least inquire at large suppliers abroad. Only the one dealer in 51km distance, which has the material in stock, you have not asked.

Ferrideal is intended to serve...

The platform is designed to display what is available and allow companies to say what they need in order to find others who have what is needed.

Why should the metals be driven over 1,000 km when there is a stock available 51 km away?
In day-to-day business, people very often don't think about the environment!
The material must be procured. The production must run.

Think about it!
